Spaghetti and Meatballs

Ingredients:

8 of our delicious beef meatballs*

* available in our Standard Meat Box

For the sauce:
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, minced
3 tins of crushed tomatoes
2 bay leaves (optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 Tbsp of chopped fresh basil

Method:

  1. Start off by heating a large pot or dutch oven over a medium to high heat with some olive oil. Cook the meatballs in batches making sure not to crowd the pot and to brown on all sides. Don’t worry about cooking through you will be finishing them off in the sauce. Remove from the pot and set aside.

  2. In the same pot add a little more oil and sauté your onions over and medium to low heat until golden (5 mins). Add in your garlic and cook for a further 2 mins.

  3. Stir in your tins of tomatoes and bay leaves, being sure to bring to a light boil , stirring occasionally.

  4. Add back in the meatballs to the tomato sauce , cover with a partial lid and leave to simmer for 30 mins, turning the meatballs occasionally. 5 minutes before your sauce is done add in your basil and salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Cook pasta according to the package directions , drain and serve immediately.
