The Perfect Hasselback Potatoes Are Easier Than You Think
Equipment:
-Knife
-2 wooden spoons
-A tray for roasting
Ingredients:
Medium sized potatoes
Olive oil
A knob of butter
Salt
Pepper
Rosemary
Garlic
Paprika
How to Cook:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
The special part about this dish is the way you cut the potatoes. You need to slice multiple times through the potatoes as thinly as possible, but the key here is to not cut the potatoes all the way through and that's where the wood spoons come in. You lay the spoons on your cutting surface and place the potato in the middle and then cut, this prevents the blade from going all the way through. This creates an almost accordion shape.
Next put the olive oil, butter and aromatics (finely chopped rosemary, garlic and paprika) in your baking dish and place in the oven for a minutes. Take out once the butter is melted.
Throw your potatoes in the tray and roll them around coating them in your seasoned oil and butter mixture. Make sure you get a spoon and get the oil in between your slices.
Bake in the oven for 1 hour or until golden brown and tender.
